Description
Pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) is an acidic anhydride that serves as a repair agent and chain extender in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) based chain extensions. Primarily used in thermoplastics production and coating applications.
PMDA is a crucial monomer for manufacturing various thermoplastics including polyesters, polycarbonates, polyethers, plasticizers, and epoxy resins. Its excellent thermal and oxidative stability, along with superior mechanical properties, make it ideal for high-performance coatings used in diverse industrial applications.
